Roxboro Community School (RCS) high school science teacher Ashley Bailey is the 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year.
High school Principal Darkarai Bryant made the announcement during the end-of-year luncheon on June 4. He said Bailey leads from the back of the classroom as well as from the front; giving her students every opportunity to learn and succeed. She is always seeking ways to enhance her teaching, he said, by obtaining grants and professional development.
Bailey said, "It is an honor to be chosen to represent this wonderful faculty and it is a privilege to work at RCS."
She began her teaching career in 2000, after graduating from NC State University. She came to RCS in 2014.
