Roxboro Community School (RCS) is pleased to announce that Mr. Jeremy Martin will be the next high school principal. Martin will begin his tenure at RCS in July, taking over the high school reins when current principal Darkarai Bryant assumes the role of RCS managing executive director.

For over 20 years, Martin said, he has “been a proud educator at the high school and middle school levels and a director at the district office level.”

He holds a bachelor's degree in physical education from Appalachian State University and a master of school administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Martin’s career began in the classroom, as an earth science, physical education, and weight training teacher at Eastern Alamance High School in Mebane.  During his 12 years there, he was also a football, baseball, basketball, and track coach.

Following his time at Eastern Alamance, Martin went into administration as an assistant principal at Hugh M. Cummings High School in Burlington and at Graham Middle School.  In 2020, Martin was named director of School Administration for the Alamance-Burlington School System.  He worked at the district office for over two years before his passion for students took him back into the school setting at Graham High School.

“It is truly an honor to be chosen as the next principal of Roxboro Community High School,” he said. “For me, education is more than a job; it is mission work. The foundation that RCS is built upon will allow me to continue my goal of making everyone around me better each day.”

Current RCS Managing Executive Director Dave Ebert said, “Jeremy Martin worked for me as a teacher and coach when I was the principal of Eastern Alamance High School. He was an excellent teacher who always had a great rapport with his students. Jeremy also completed his principal internship while working for me at Eastern Alamance. He will be a great addition to RCS and I'm excited that he will be the new high school principal.”

Martin has been married to his high school sweetheart, Andrea for 18 years, and they have two smart, energetic boys -- Noah, age 12, and six-year-old Grant.
