Jean Johnson

Three teachers and the office manager retired from Roxboro Community School (RCS) at the close of the 2018-19 school year.

Nancy Clayton, Faye Daniel and Gina Lunsford all said they were blessed to have completed their teaching careers at RCS.

Clayton said RCS was "truly a family." She also offered advice to those who remain: "Don't lose that" family atmosphere.

Daniel and Lunsford both said they would miss their RCS family, but were looking forward to the next chapter in their lives.

Johnson, who has managed the front office at RCS for the past five years, was honored by middle school Principal Donna Ingram, who joked that it took four people to fill in for Johnson when she had to miss a day.

The woman with the first face most people see upon entering the school said she had asked God to let her last few years in education be the "best years, and they have been."
