Middle School

Sidney Blanding

This week’s middle school student spotlight is seventh grader, Sidney Blanding. Blanding has been an RCS student since sixth grade. He was nominated for his positivity, great sense of humor, and the effort he puts into all his classes. The seventh grade team of teachers shared that Blanding puts 100% effort into everything he does, which includes his school work and basketball.  

Seventh grade math teacher, Heather Lewis talked about how hard he works in math class everyday. “Sid is a wonderful, conscientious student,” Lewis said. “He is a friend to all… an amazing young man.” Katie Devillier, math boost teacher, mentioned how Blanding is a respectful student with a contagious smile. Devillier said “I have loved every minute of teaching Sid this year.” 

Blanding said it felt pretty good to be chosen for the spotlight, adding “ I feel like a leader.” He hopes to continue getting straight A’s this school year. 


High School

Lilyan Green

This week’s high school student spotlight is 10th grader, Lilyan Green. 

Green has been a bulldog since her eighth grade year. She was nominated by a few of her 10th grade teachers for always being positive and having a cheerful attitude. They also said she is a hardworker and has effective time management skills. American history teacher, Chirsty King said “Lily is a hardworking student who always strives to do her best on all assignments. She usually is smiling and is just fun to have in the classroom.” 

Green was excited about being chosen by her 10th grade teachers. She said she is proud of herself for receiving this honor.
