Bailey and kids

RCS science teacher Ashley Bailey was awarded a Bright Ideas Grant from Piedmont Electric Membership Corporation today, Thursday, October 24. Mrs. Bailey received $1,000 to purchase protein building/modeling kits. Using these kits, students will learn how proteins are coded and their levels of folding. Mrs. Bailey said, thanks to the grant, her students will gain hands-on experience regarding the way mutations lead to health problems. They will explore the role bioengineering plays in protein design and pharmaceutical development.
