
Attention parents of rising 7th graders: There will be a Zoom meeting on Thursday, May 11 at 6:30 pm about renting instruments through Music and Arts. The first month's rent is $15 and your child will have an instrument waiting on them when they come in August. If you cannot attend the Zoom meeting, links were sent in an email explaining how to get instruments. The Zoom link was in that email as well.

Leslie Kent and Matt Pappas from UNC spoke to RCS Biotech Health Science students this week. They discussed DNA and how it is used in Forensics Science. Students were able to extract DNA from their saliva and they also completed an electrophoresis activity to determine the thief in a fictitious crime.





The RCS middle school girls' soccer team will hold its 8th grade recognition night on Monday, May 8 at 4pm. Please come out and support your Bulldogs!

The RCS middle school baseball team will hold 8th Grade Recognition Night tomorrow, Wednesday, May 3, at 4:30 pm at Optimist Park. Please come out and support your Bulldogs!


The RCS middle school Lacrosse team will hold its 8th Grade Recognition Night on Wednesday, May 3, at 5 pm. Drizzle D's will be on campus from 3 to 6 pm tomorrow, for anyone who would like to support the team and get a sweet treat. A portion of proceeds will benefit the lacrosse program.


Come out on May 19, at 7 pm and watch the RCS theater classes perform 30 Plays in 60 Minutes! Admission is free, but $5 donations appreciated.


RCS Parents and Guardians,
All medication kept at school must be picked up by the last day of school. Students are not permitted to transport medications home. Any medication remaining at school after the last student day will be properly disposed of. This includes all prescription and non-prescription medications, inhalers and Epinephrine pens. If you are unable to pick up medication by the last day of school, alternative arrangements can be made by contacting the school nurse prior to the end of the school year. After a two year hiatus due to Covid, the RCS National Junior Beta Club officially reactivated its chapter last night with an induction ceremony for rising 7th and 8th grade students who have maintained a semester average of 90, earning nothing below a B for each grading term. National Beta recognizes high academic achievement, promotes character and social responsibility, encourages service involvement to school and community, fosters leadership skills, and provides settings for students to develop interpersonal relationship skills. We look forward to seeing these new Jr. Betas in the coming 2023-2024 school year and know they will continue to make us #bulldogproud!


The High School and Jazz Band will perform their Spring Concert tonight, Thursday, April 27, at 6:30 pm in the RCS Multipurpose Room. Admission is $5 for the Interact Club Fundraiser to End Polio Now.
