FFA Grateful for Support
The RCS FFA Club participated in the Roxboro Christmas Parade on December 14. Advisor Jill Clayton said she and the FFA members were grateful to State Construction and David and Karen Trickey for providing a tractor trailer for the club members to ride on. The Trickeys "have been super supportive of FFA this year" and also had the topsoil delivered at Optimist Park, at no charge, when FFA planted azaleas there, said Clayton.
RCS seeks knowledgeable, passionate, and experienced coaches to help build our Bulldog athletic programs. These are volunteer positions.Successful candidates must enjoy working with student-athletes, possess the ability to take initiative, and demonstrate a strong work ethic while maintaining a positive attitude. Tomorrow, Friday, November 15 is a Jeans Day. The $2 donation will benefit club adoptions.

Bailey a Finalist for NC Charter School TOY
RCS high school biology teacher Ashley Bailey is a finalist for the 2020 North Carolina Charter School Teacher of the Year. She and one other person are still in the running for the title. RCS high school principal Darkarai Bryant announced the news at a short assembly today, saying he anticipates an announcement regarding the next Charter School TOY by Thanksgiving. He said, presenting Bailey with a bouquet, "We already know she is number one, in and outside of the classroom." Bailey's family, including her two older children who are RCS students, and her youngest, Margaret, were on hand to honor her accomplishment.

Holiday Extravaganza!
RCS sixth graders got into the Halloween spirit today.
It's Halloween at RCS, and even the Bulldog showed up for class!
Start your Christmas shopping at the 14th annual RCS PTSO Holiday Extravaganza.
Please pre-order for the November Menu by October 28. On November 1, Papa John's will begin providing the pizza for Friday lunches.
Lady Bulldogs (1st Round VB Playoffs) will play at Neuse Charter on Saturday, October 26 at 5 pm. Admission price is $7.00. Main entrance is blocked due to road construction, please enter at the stoplight opposite Smithfield Selma High School by turning onto Kellie Drive.
