National Custodian Day was earlier this week and today Mr. Bryant presented our amazing custodians, Coy Oakley, Angie Hopkins, and Roger Wilkerson, with a gift to thank them for all they do! We are all so thankful for these three amazing people and all they do for our school!

Last night the Varsity Cross Country team competed in the TNAC Conference Championship. Senior Nate Stovall, Sophomore Alexis Vander Poppen, and Freshman Katie Mann finished the race in the top 14, earning themselves All-Conference awards! Way to run, Bulldogs!! #BulldogProud
Both of our varsity RCS cross country teams will compete in the 1A Regionals in Cary on October 28 to determine who qualifies for States in November.
October is Cancer Awareness Month! To celebrate, at our home soccer game vs Oxford Prep on Wednesday at 6 pm, we are asking all attendees to wear pink! Our players will be wearing a pink armband to celebrate all cancer survivors. Admission is $7. We hope to see you there!

Middle school baseball workouts for this week will be on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. They will meet on the RCS soccer field. You will only need to bring workout clothes, so no baseball gear. Anyone interested can attend. Please make sure you have a current copy of your sports physical uploaded to Dragonfly before participating.
My Life Matters will have biscuits and bible study on Tuesday, October 3 at 7:30 a.m. in the dining hall! MLM meets every Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m.

RCS HOSA will once again host an American Red Cross blood drive on Thursday, October 26, 2023 in the multipurpose room. Appointments are available from 8:30am to 1:00pm. Caroline Puryear, Jonathan Williams, Nathaniel Stovall, Olivia Ess, Patrick Peeples and Robin Puryear were recently awarded the National Rural and Small Town Award from the College Board. Today, Principal Martin presented the awardees with certificates to celebrate their recognition in front of the high school. Congratulations, Bulldogs! #BulldogProud
While the students were away, the teachers were here today! During the remote day, teachers participated in professional development together, discussing how to use AI in the classroom and how to better build leadership and community in the school. They then enjoyed lunch and a gear sale especially for them! A huge thanks to the PTSO for hosting the sale and providing lunch from Butcher's Daughter and dessert from Flat River Cafe!
