High school had another Scholastic Awards Recognition for a couple of seniors today. Carver Pleasant was recently selected as a 2023 School Winner for the Heisman High School Scholarship. This is a national scholarship awarded to only a few thousand senior scholar-athletes in the country. DeeDee Anderson was selected as a National Merit Corporate Scholarship Candidate. She is now in a pool of other candidates who also have the highest PSAT/NMSQT Selection Index scores, which allows her an opportunity to continue in the competition for the sponsor’s Special Scholarships. Principal Martin presented them each with a certificate to congratulate them both in front of our high school students. We are #BulldogProud of these amazing students!

We are going to have a packed house tonight! With opening night of our production of The Wizard of Oz and HS basketball games happening tonight, we have some important parking information. If you plan to attend The Wizard of Oz, please park in the Woody Parking Lot (the student lot behind the school). Those attending the basketball games, should park in the main parking lot. If you are planning to attend both events, we ask that you plan appropriately. The Wizard of Oz will run for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, starting at 7 p.m. We ask that people not arrive late or leave early to try and make it to a game. There will be another performance on Saturday at 7 p.m. as well.
