Roxboro Community School Open Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year ends tonight! We are once again partnering with Lotterease to offer an online application/enrollment process. The link to submit an application is on the Enrollment page of our school website (https://www.roxborocs.org/page/enrollment). The lottery will be on Thursday, March 6 at 4:30 p.m.
A few important reminders:
* Students who are currently attending Roxboro Community School DO NOT need to re-apply to attend next school year.
* Siblings of current students or alumni DO need to complete an application to attend RCS next year. They are given preference in the lottery because they are the sibling** of a current student or alumni. But they DO have to apply by the March 4, 2025 deadline or the Lotterease computer system will automatically place them on a waiting list. [**"Sibling" includes brothers or sisters, half-siblings, step-siblings, or foster siblings living in the same household.]
* Paper copies of the 2025-2026 application are available for anyone who does not have internet or computer access

The Sr Beta Club is looking for RCS Alumni currently in college/university to come back to RCS to talk about their college experience. Alumni can be attending a four-year school or community college. Come out tomorrow at 5 p.m. and support your Lady Varsity Basketball Bulldogs as they continue their undefeated season as they take on Pamlico County in the Second Round of the State Playoffs at RCS Gym! Admission is $7 and no athletic passes will be accepted.
Rachel Green was presented with a scholarship from the Lewis "Eddie" Winstead Memorial Fund today. The scholarship is given in memory of Eddie Winstead. Each year the scholarship committee chooses to award the scholarship to students who excel academically and athletically and would have benefited from Eddie's training, guidance, teaching, and mentorship.
Green is an excellent student who plays tennis and soccer at RCS. She plans to attend UNC-Chapel Hill in the fall. We are proud of her! Thank you to the Winstead family for coming each year to share their mission and present this scholarship to our students.
The middle school soccer and softball scrimmage games scheduled for today against Orange Middle School have been canceled.
Tomorrow is a $2 pajama day for our middle school students! Students can wear pajama sets, pajama pants (long only), RCS sweatshirts, and RCS t-shirts. No leggings, joggers, sweats, shorts, gowns, or onsies. ONLY middle school students are allowed to wear pajamas! No high school students should be wearing pajamas.
Tomorrow is $2 jeans day for high school students. ONLY high school students are allowed to wear jeans. No middle school students should be wearing jeans.
Yesterday the Homestead Steakhouse provided our staff with a wonderful lunch! Thank you to everyone in the community who voted for our staff to receive this lunch and the Homestead for graciously providing the meal! We are blessed to have an amazing community that loves and supports us!

Roxboro Community School will host the Reality Store for our 8th grade students on Friday, March 14. The Reality Store is an activity that will let students experience what it is like to manage money, pay their monthly bills while staying within their budget, and record entries in a check register format. Due to hazardous road conditions on many secondary roads, there will be no school for students tomorrow, February 21.
Because of this, the early release day on May 20th will now be a full school day for students.

Senior Beta Club members challenged themselves on the ice rink today by getting out of their comfort zone. There were lots of laughs, falls and fun!

Senior ads are on sale now! The deadline to order is February 28 and the deadline to have your ad finished is March 14.
We are doing things a little differently this year. You will now be ordering your ads through Strawbridge directly. From there you can choose to create the ad yourself using their platform or you can create an ad outside of their platform and upload it. Either way, we will not be offering to create ads for you.
